Juniors 5 at the Museu da Imaginação (Imagination Museum)

Juniors 5 students participated in a visit to the Imagination Museum as part of their study of the environment in the Who Are We inquiry unit. The pedagogical proposal aims to investigate the concept of systems and their interrelationships, encouraging students to understand how different elements connect and interact in the world around them.

The museum, known for its creative and interactive installations, provided the ideal environment for students to experience these concepts in a concrete and playful way. Through hands-on activities, collaborative games, and sensory experiences, students were challenged to observe how people, objects, and ideas organize and function together, forming dynamic systems.

The experience broadened the students’ repertoire, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and reflection on the role of each individual within a larger system, whether in the family, at school, or in society. More than just an educational outing, the visit to the Museum became a meaningful opportunity for learning, connection and discovery.

Inspiring Visit: Emily Porter, Group Director of Learning at ISP, Visits Escola Internacional de Alphaville

In May, Escola Internacional de Alphaville had the honor of welcoming Emily Porter, Group Chief Learning Officer at International Schools Partnership (ISP). Known for her educational leadership and innovative vision, Emily shared valuable insights that reinforced ISP’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.

The visit focused on strengthening the professional growth of our staff. In an enriching conversation with the academic and relationship coordination, the five fundamental pillars that guide ISP schools were revisited:

  • Academic Achievement
  • Multilingualism
  • Life Competencies
  • International Opportunities
  • Future Pathways

These pillars are the foundation of daily practice across the group’s schools, supporting an education that is global, innovative, and centered on student development.

The visit also highlighted ISP’s exclusive Learning Improvement Process™ (LIP™), a continuous improvement framework driven by school data and evaluations. LIP™ identifies key areas for growth and guides strategic actions to enhance teaching quality with a focus on measurable impact and sustainable practices.

As Emily Porter says: “At ISP, we cultivate lifelong learners who excel academically and possess the resilience, adaptability and self-belief to navigate an ever-changing world. This journey is one of self-discovery, growth and transformation.”

Emily’s visit reaffirms the values that shape our community and strengthens the purpose that inspires our daily work: to develop people, promote high-quality learning, and transform the future with responsibility and innovation.
